LOS ANGELES (Dec. 14, 2022) – TutorMe, an online tutoring solution creating access and opportunity for all students, today announced a partnership with Roane County Schools in Roane County, West Virginia. This partnership provides all K–12 students in the district with the one-on-one, individualized tutoring support this school year.
High-impact tutoring is one of the most-studied and effective educational interventions. Through the partnership withTutorMe, students can now work one-on-one with high-quality tutors, 24/7, when it works best for them—whether that’s before school, after school, or even on weekends. TutorMe enables meaningful connections students need to learn and thrive, creating better learning outcomes for the entire school community.
“We are excited to partner with TutorMe and provide our students an additional avenue for growth,” said Richard Duncan, Superintendent at Roane County Schools. “Our goal is to provide equal opportunities for our students to grow as learners. The around-the-clock access to high-impact tutoring through TutorMe ensures each one of our students receives the personalized support they need to build their confidence and knowledge in reading, math, and other subjects—no matter their personal schedules or transportation situations.”
While Roane County Schools provides traditional, in-person tutoring to students before and after school, some students can’t attend due to sports practices, transportation difficulties, or other obligations—an emerging trend in schools and districts nationwide. The partnership with TutorMe provides students an additional academic resource, complementing the district’s in-person tutoring options, while aligning with Roane County Schools’ goal of increasing academic achievement through supporting students and educators to address achievement gaps and students’ unique academic needs.
An online tutoring solution, TutorMe pairs students with high-quality tutors based on their own specific requests and provides diversified support through chat, or voice- and video-enabled tutoring—ensuring students can access the benefits of tutoring at no cost to families.
“TutorMe levels the playing field, providing equal access to quality tutoring,” said Kyle Baker, Chief of Staff at TutorMe. “Often, in-person tutoring relies on students showing up before or after school, but that itself is difficult for some students, since the ones who might need tutoring the most have more barriers to participation. TutorMe removes that obstacle. We look forward to working with teachers and staff throughout the district to ensure each student at Roane County Schools receives the one-on-one, individualized tutoring support to make the most of TutorMe.”
